Precision Health Solutions to Begin Urinalysis Testing

ST PETERSBURG, FL. — January 19, 2023 — Precision Health Solutions, a CLIA certified laboratory and CAP accredited, has added urinalysis (UA) testing to their test compendium which is now available for healthcare providers today.

A UA is done to examine the appearance, chemical and microscopic findings of a urine sample. Urine microscopy is an integral part of a routine urinalysis to provide a comprehensive report of the sample. A UA test can reveal a wide range of health conditions such as liver disease, kidney disease, diabetes, and urinary tract infections.

“We are thrilled to announce that our laboratory now offers urinalysis testing along with urine panel PCR testing.” said Brigitte Ordonez, Clinical Laboratory Administrator and General Supervisor.  “Our goal is to equip providers with timely results to aid in the prompt treatment of patients, in an effort to improve outcomes and quality of life.”

A routine UA is one of the most commonly ordered tests and many of these samples require a lab technician to perform a manual inspection to identify protein, blood cells, glucose, pH, bilirubin, ketone bodies, nitrites, and more. Precision Health Solutions has the infrastructure to analyze thousands of samples daily with their highly skilled laboratory technologists.

“Our clients were asking for urinalysis testing from our laboratory, and we quickly delivered.” said Brigitte Ordonez. Testing will be analyzed at Precision Health Solutions advanced laboratory in St. Petersburg, Florida to provide a more in-depth analysis on urine samples in addition to our polymerase chain reaction (PCR) urine testing.
